The Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, has called on the people of Ukwuani Local Government Area to continue to have hope and pray for peace and democratic growth of the area and the state.
The Deputy Speaker, stated this in his 2021 New Year message to the people of his constituency, in a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli, on January 1, 2021.
He reminded them that the outgone year was one that was with a lot of challenges, from the beginning of the year, with the appearance of the Novel CoronaVirus Pandemic that disrupted the normal lifestyle of the people, and later, the #Endsars protest by the Nigerian youths, which was also witnessed in the local government.
Hon Ochor pointed out that these twin events in the year, 2020 greatly affected the social economy of the nation, and by extension the local communities, as their source of livelihood was altered, with unexpected hardship inflicted on many Nigerians.
He stated that despite the pains experienced in the year 2020, the people should have hope for this year, encouraging them to continue to pray for the democratic growth of the Local Government, and the state, especially the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to enable him continue with his effective development policies of the state.
“My good people of Ukwuani Local Government Area, I wish you a very Happy New Year, 2021. I employ you to be hopeful of the year, and continue to pray for the growth of our area, socially, economically and democratically.”
“Year 2020 was a year that came with many challenges. It was a year, we experienced the coming of the Novel CoronaVirus pandemic, and it came with its social and economic disruption, which was experienced in our area. It was also a year, the youth shook the nation with the #Endsars protest. This again touched the fundamentals of our lives. But in all this, we have to be appreciative and continue to have hope.”
“Have hope, and continue to pray for our area, Delta State, and the Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, to continue his good works of developing Ukwuani, and entire Delta State through his laudable policies.” It stated.
