Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers have shot a man identified simply as Omamuzo a.k.a Apere dead near the old premises of Union Bank in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Council Area of Delta State.
Details as to why he was killed were still sketchy at the time of filing report.
AUTHENTIC NEWS DAILY gathered that the incident occurred Thursday December 30,2020.
Sources said that, “the gunmen numbering about three entered a shop owned by a woman and ordered her and her customers to lie faced down and submit their monies.
“The deceased refused and instead argued with the suspected armed robbers who shot him to death and made away with their loots from the shop.
The State Commissioner of Police who has now been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa confirmed the report in a telephone chat with Our Correspondent in Warri.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya also confirmed the report in a telephone chat with Our Correspondent in Warri.
She said, “Yes! it’s true. It is an armed robbery operation. A woman who came to make report said she was at her shop selling when armed robbers about three came into the shop and ordered all of them to lie down and bring out their money but a man argued with them and he was shot.”
