New Year: GOC 7 Division Treats Injured Soldiers To Luncheon

    The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Div/Comd Sector 1 Operation Lafiya Dole (OPLD) Maj Gen AK Ibrahim on Saturday 9 Jan 21 treated injured Soldiers of OPLD currently recuperating in 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital (7 DMSH) to a New Year luncheon. The luncheon which was held in compliance with the COVID 19 protocols had in attendance the COS 7 Div Brig Gen I Otu who represented the GOC, Comd 7 Div ST, Comd 7 Div Pro Gp, Comd 7 DMSH and other senior officerrs.

    In his message, he praised the Soldiers for their gallantry and patriotism noting that most of them were injured in the line of duty. He assured them of the COAS/TCs great concern for their welfare. He added that, recently,the AHQ and HQ TC had invested in the hospital in terms of improving the infrastructure and putting modern day facilities all aimed at quick recovery of the injured soldiers and to ensure they reunite with their units quickly to continue the Operation. He expressed strong optimism that given the renewed impetus and equipment made available, the insurgency would be overcomed very soon. High point of the event was when the senior officers served the injured Soldiers to a sumptuous meal and entertainment to spice up the event.

    In their response, the recuperating Soldiers expressed delight and appreciation to the GOC and the Army high Command for the care being given to them in the hospital and promised that they would go back to their locations when they recovered in order to end the insurgency. The successful event ended on a happy and hitch free note.
