The Vice President of Osun United Football Club, Mr Vincent Akinbami, has reteriated that the team’s sole aim this season, is to gain promotion to the Nigeria elite division, the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
He expressed this after the draws were made, saying the people of Osun State and the governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola want to have a feel of the premier league atmosphere the way it was some years back when the club was called Prime FC.
“We are happy the league is resuming, the players are rearing to go, the officials all have their eyes fixed on one goal; that is promotion.
“The supporters are all ready to cheer us to victory both at home and away. Though a dark horse, we are and we will be cautious with every of our opponents. We will give regards to all our opponents but put names and past records aside.
“I, the president, Chief Ademola Adeshina and other board members alongside the technical crew and backroom staff are putting heads together to ensure we have a fruitful season,” he assured.
Speaking further, he said that with the support of the governor, the Special Adviser to the governor on sports, Aremu Adelabu and Commissioner of Sports, Mr yemi Lawal, they will be unstoppable.
Osun United FC are in Group B1 alongside 3Sc of Ibadan, Go Round FC, Rovers FC, Vandrezzer FC, Delta Force, Nilayo FC, Nnewi United, Stores, Giant Brillars, Dynamite FC and Ekiti United.
Osun United play Go Round FC on the January 30 at okomu in their first match.
