Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has expressed sadness over the passage of the district head of Doho in Kwami local government, Alhaji Muhammad Magaji Doho who died on Tuesday in Abuja at the age of 95 years.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director- General (Press Affairs) Government House, Gombe, Ismaila Uba Misilli.
It explained that Governor Yahaya, in a statement, described the death of the district head as a great loss, not only to his immediate family or Kwami Local Government Area, but the entire state and the country at large.
The Governor stated that the late Alhaji Magaji Doho was a humble and dedicated leader, who lived a life of service to his people, the state and the nation and left behind, a legacy of honour worthy of emulation by all.
He noted that the late traditional ruler worked tirelessly and offered counsels and fatherly guidance for the peace, unity, and development of his people, community and the state.
The Governor noted that the 36-year reign of the late Alhaji Muhammad Magaji in Doho had been eventful, acknowledging the deceased’s contributions to the development of Gombe state, both during his service days as Director in the old Bauchi state and in retirement during which he served as Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association ( PTA) in addition to his royal duties.
Governor Yahaya conveyed his heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Gombe State, to the immediate family of the deceased, Doho district and people of Kwami local government area over the great loss, praying Almighty Allah to grant the late district head Aljannat Firdaus.
Meanwhile, a government delegation, led by the Speaker of Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo attended the funeral prayer held in Doho.
The delegation which comprised Gombe State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Commissioner of Information and Culture, Special Advisers, Kwami Local Government Chairman and other senior government officials, delivered the Governor’s condolence message and offered special prayers for Allah’s mercy upon the late district head.
