India High Commission in Nigeria says it will continue to use the Alma mater to strengthen their bilateral relationship between the two countries.
The Indian Commissioner in Nigeria Mr. Abhay Thakur stated this during the meeting of alumni of Sharda University of India held in Abuja.
Represented by the Deputy High Commissioner and Head of Chancery, Mr. Shri V. S. D. L. Surendra, the High Commissioner assured that India would partner Nigeria particularly, in the area of education.
He applauded Nigerian students and the Alma mater of Sharda University India for attending one of the best universities in the world which is located in India.
In an address of welcome,
President of International Relations of Sharda Group, Mr. Ashok Daryani emphasized on reuniting and rejuvenating the relationship between Sharda University and the Alma mater which would be sustained as one family.
He explained that it is a lifelong bond relationship for all the Alma mater of Sharda University adding that such meeting would be held from time to time to strengthen the existing relationship for all the products of the university across the world.
On his part, the Chairman of Gadawur Global Investment Limited, Alhaji Suleiman Adamu commended the Indian High Commissioner. Mr. Abhay Thakur for focusing on educational sector as one of his priorities.
He appealed to wealthy parents to also consider the less privileged while sponsoring their children as part of social responsibilities to humanity.
Some of the alumni who spoke at the meeting, said they were highly delighted to have passed through the university.
They lauded the commitment of the university lecturers for supporting them to acquire what they described as the best education in the world.
According to them, there was neither strike nor harassment , while a conducive learning environment was also created for the students.
Personality attended the meeting included Deputy Director National University Commission Dr. Lawal Muhammad Faruk, Project Director, Zamfara State Scholarship Board, Alhaji Musa Jazuli, Director General Rochas Care Foundation, Mr. Salisu Sambo among others.
