The Southern Kaduna People’s Union, (SOKAPU), home and abroad mourns the untimely demise of a member of its National Executive Council (NEC), Dr Silas Adamu, his wife and daughter on Monday in a motor accident along Kaduna-Abuja expressway.
A statement issued by its National Public Relations Officer, Luka Binniyat, noted that, “Dr.Silas who was the President of Atyap Community Development Association (ACDA) as well as the President General of the Tsaunin Kura GRA Residents Association (Sabo GRA) describing him as a man who spent most part of his adult life as a unionists, fighting for the rights and better welfare of the workers he represented.”
The statement explained that Comrade Dr. Silas Adamu rose to the rank of Secretary General of Medical and Health Union of Nigeria (MHUN), stressing that he contested and won the last ACDA national elections to emerge as its President last December.
The statement observed, “SOKAPU remembers the late ‘Stuu’ (an alias for which he was better known) for his relentless effort for a secured and peaceful Atyap Chiefdom which had lately been engulfed in wanton violence. It was a project which he committed a lot of his time and personal resources.”
SOKAPU said, “We deeply regret this huge loss to Southern Kaduna, Kaduna state and Nigeria in general.
“Our condolence goes to his immediate family, the Agwa Tyap, Sir Dominic Yahaya, the Atyap Chiefdom, members of MHWUN and all those who dearly loved him.”
