*Governor Umahi condemned Attack

Many persons were allegedly killed on Monday night when gunmen suspected to be herdsmen attacked three communities in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The affected communities are Egedege, Obegu and Amazu communities
A source from the area said herdsmen invaded the three communities and killed many persons.
He said at least twenty villagers were killed during the unholy attack by the suspected herders.
Many others sustained various degrees of injuries while many vehicles and and motorcycles were burnt.
The attackers, it was further learnt, also looted some properties from the area.
A priest of the Methodist church, whose name could not be ascertained was among those killed.
Chairman of the local government, Sunday Eze confirmed the incident.
According to spokesman of Ebonyi State Police Command, Loveth Odah also confirmed the attack.
She however said that a detachment of Police officers have been sent to the area led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police.
“I am waiting for their report so I can properly brief you on the number of casualties” The Chairman of the council, Sunday Eze and Commissioner for Business Development, Stephen Odo whose community is also one of the communities affey led a team of security agents to the scene of the incident.
However, Governor David Umahi, condemned the attack and described it as inhumane.
The state Governor who visited the scene of the incident call security agencies to fish out the perpetrators and charge them to book.
