The Sports Writers Association of NIgeria (SWAN) Kaduna State chapter has expressed shock over the demise of the Permanent Secretary, Kaduna State Ministry of Sports Development, Malam Umar K. Ibrahim.
A statement signed by its Secretary, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday said the event occured on March 30, 2021.
“We are shocked by the news of the demise of the Permanent Secretary, Kaduna State Ministry of Sports Development, Malam Umar K. Ibrahim, which we learnt, occured on Tuesday March 30, 2021.
“It is sad to lose one of the experienced sports administrators in the state, at a time Team Kaduna is finalising preparations to feature in the National Sports Festival (NSF) billed to commence in Benin City, the Edo State capital in a couple of days,” it said.
SWAN extended condolences to the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, the Commissioner of Sports, Professor Kabir Mato, Director of Sports, Yakubu Ibrahim and all staff of the ministry, as well as the entire citizens of Kaduna State.
“We pray that God consoled his immediate family, friends and associates, and grant his soul eternal rest in Alannah Firdaus,” the statement said.
