Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Kaduna State Council has called on Christians to emulate the life of Jesus Christ by taking care of the less privilegeg in the society, loving their neighbours, practising the teaching of Jesus on forgiveness and living peacefully with one another.
The Chairman of the State Council, Comrade Ayuba Magaji Suleiman made the call in a message marking the Holy Week which marks the end of the 40 days fasting and beginning of çelebration of Christ ressuraction made available to journalists in Kaduna.
Comrade Ayuba Magaji Suleiman also appealed to Christians to use the Easter period to pray for the end of kidnapping, armed banditry, killings and other forms of criminality in the state and the nation in general.
“Let’s also pray for peace, unity and development of Kaduna State and the country at large,” he said.
He further appealed to Christians to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ by showing love, living peacefully with their brothers, be honest in their dealings, respect for the sanctity and sacredness of human life.
He enjoined the people of Kaduna State particularly workers to imbibe these qualities and put them into practice irrespective of their denominations.
“All Christians must reflect on the good teachings of Jesus Christ on forgiveness, love, sacrifice and tolerance now and after the celebration,” he added.
The NLC Chairperson wished all Christians a successful Easter celebration .
