SON DG Warns Firms Not To Compromise Standards Or Lose MANCAP Certificates

    The Director General/Chief Executive of Standards Organisation of NIgeria (SON), Malam Farouk A. Salim has warned that companies that compromise standards after receiving the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP), would be sanctioned.

    He gave the warning, during the Award of Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) Certificates to nine deserving organisations that met basic standards at its North West/ Kaduna office on Monday April 26, 2021.

    “In the event of non performance, the MANCAP Certificates issued would be withdrawn,” he warned.
    He explained that the MANCAP Certificates are being presented to beneficiaries to show to the world that their products have met the required standards.
    Represented by the Regional Coordinator North West, Mr. U.S. Mohammed, he said that  it also boosts marketing of their products because it shows that they have met the minimum standards.
    Earlier in his welcome address, Kaduna State Coordinator SON,  Mr. Q.M. Yahya said the idea behind MANCAP Certificates is to enhance loyalty and increase patronage for company’s that have confirmed to NIgeria’s industrial standards.
    He said it ensures consumers get value for their money through quality and protection of lives.
    Speaking further, he informed that with the MANCAP Certificates, the business owners have an opportunity to explore the West African business market.
    Representative of Commissioner Ministry of Business innovation and Technology Kaduna State,  Musa Shuraihu Mohammed who is  Business Premises Registration Officer, described the MANCAP presentation as commendable.
    Sadiya Asabe Bashir MD De-Lace represtative assured their customers that they would always give them quality products like PPEs, doctors apparels, bed sheets, facemasks and others.
    NIgerian Breweries Plc, represented by Kabiru Kassim  said that they have passion for quality and Standards Organisation has attested to the fact that their products stand out and meet world-class standards.
    The companies that were presented with the MANCAP Certificates are, Euro Products Ltd, TAK Agro & Chemicals Ltd, Yanayi Manufacturing Company LTD, Chellco Industries Ltd and  NIgerian Breweries Plc.
    Others are De-Lace International NIgeria Limited, Global Care Industries Ltd, Albarka Natural Mineral Water & Plastics Company Limited and Humsadab Perfect Primer Seeds NIgeria Ltd.
