No fewer than 63 teams from all over NIgeria are in Kaduna for the 2021 edition of President President Beach Volleyball Senior Male/Female and U-19 Boys and Girls Cup taking place at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS), Kaduna.

This was disclosed by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Chairman, Surveyor Timothy Samuel while fielding questions from newsmen on the sidelines of the competition which served off on Monday.

According to him, the teams comprise of 16 senior and 24 junior male teams.
He said the female teams that marked present at the technical session held earlier, are 11 senior and 12 junior sides.
He commended the President of the NIgeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod for bankrolling the championship.
“We want to thank the chairman caretaker committee of the NVBF, Engineer Musa Nimrod for putting this championship together,” he said.
On the challenges envisaged in the course of the championship, he said that the overwhelming presence of teams will put pressure on them in ensuring it is rounded up in the three days scheduled.
“For now the teams are much, so we will try to meet up with time. Except for the rains this evening, no other challenges are expected to be encountered,” he said.
He tasked the players is to put in their best so that NIgeria can get the best that will clinch the sole ticket for Africa at the Tokyo Olympics Games billed for this year.
“We will select eight players from male and eight from female for camping.
“Those selected will camp here before proceeding on camping tour to Ghana and Benin Republic,” he informed.
For Engineer Nimrod, he was delighted by the large turn out of teams.
He was optimistic that the best players would be selected by the technical committee to represent NIgeria at the last leg of qualifiers ahead Tokyo Olympics.
