Osun: Oyetola’s SSA, Akinbami Convenes Sports Stakeholders Summit

    The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola on Sports Development, Mr Vincent Akinbami has said that he has concluded arrangements to host  a  stakeholders meeting in Oshogbo on June 29, 2021.
    He made this known in a statement he personally signed and made available to our correspondent on Monday June 21.
    According to him, the Osun State  stakeholders meeting will go a long way to unravel the problems the state is facing in sports development as well as suggest the way forward.
    He added that in solving problems, it is important to discuss with the actors who know where the shoe pinches and administrators who also have limitations in carrying out their duties.
    “The Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega oyetola is desarious of making the state the best in Nigeria in terms of discovering and nurturing of talents. He believes by focusing  on sports, a lot of youth will be taken off the streets to have a bright future,”  Akinbami added.
    Speaking further, he said, a lot of  potential world champions never got started because of lack of opportunities, as such, Osun State wants to wake up from being a sleeping gaint and take its rightful place in terms of sports in Nigeria.
    “Our amiable governor, Alhaji   Gboyega Oyetola believes this is the right step in the right direction, as such, a lot will be unraveled in terms of problems and steps to be taken from the stakeholders meeting to move sports to the next level,” he explained.
    According to the statement, those to take part in the meeting are coaches of all sports, captains of all sports, chairmen of sports associations, a member stadium authority, ministry of  sports, ministry of education, Osun State Sports Council and journalists.
