SOKAPU Expresses Shock, Mourns Bantex

    The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) has expressed deep shock over what it described as the untimely death of the former Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Arc. Barnabas Yusuf Bala Bantex whose sad event occurred on Sunday the 11th of July, 2021.

    This was expressed in a statement signed by its President, Hon. Jonathan Asake, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Monday.

    “Hon. Bala Bantex until his demise had served his people, Kaduna state and the nation at large in various capacities. 
    “He started as a young lecturer in the Department of Architecture, University of Jos and later moved on to practice his chosen profession in the Construction Industry were he made his mark before delving into politics,” it said. 
    SOKAPU further said that Bantex was elected to serve as a delegate to the 1994 Constitutional Conference. 
    “He was also elected and served meritoriously well as  Execute Chairman, Kaura Local Government Council and thereafter got elected as member, Federal House of Representatives where he represented Kaura Federal Constituency and thereafter he became Deputy Governor Kaduna state. 
    “His Excellency Arc. Bala Bantex was a one time Secretary of our great Union, and is credited to have designed the SOKAPU logo of “Unity in Diversity” for which he is greatly appreciated and will always be remembered.
    “On behalf of the entire Southern Kaduna family, I convey our deepest regrets and prayers to his immediate family members, the Sholio Nation, relations, friends, associates and all well wishers for God’s divine consolation.
    “May God grant us the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, and may the gentle soul of our departed brother rest in perfect peace with the Lord,” it said.
